Shelley Higgins

Shelley Higgins holds a degree in child development and is an educational curriculum developer. She joined TruetoAfrica in 2022 as an education specialist. In this role, she works with local strategic partners to understand the Ugandan education system, enabling the team to make informed decisions and provide culturally appropriate support for students and teachers. Shelley has built important relationships with Ugandan publishers to coordinate the purchase and delivery of government-approved curriculum, reading materials, and textbooks to community village schools. During her delivery visits, she meets with school administrators and teachers to discuss how to effectively implement these educational resources and improve student learning. Shelley’s experience as an early childhood educator and curriculum developer, combined with her passion for literacy, motivates her to empower students through education.
